Beth White Mountain

Beth White Mountain is a mother, massage therapist, herbalist and organic gardener. She has a home in Little Eagle, South Dakota on the Standing Rock Reservation, though is currently wintering in Florida to help with her elderly mother. Beth has been a Massage Therapist since 1996 and formally had a massage office in Bear Soldier community on Standing Rock from 2010 until 2019, still offering massage in the Summers. She has worked with Standing Rock Tribal Health, contracting massage, making it available and accessible for all enrolled tribal members. Beth is a Certified Herbalist through the East West School of Planetary Herbology in Santa Cruz, California, and is an avid wildcrafter, herbal medicine maker, teacher and clinical herbalist. She is a former herbal apprentice at Wild Roots People’s Virtual Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska and also a volunteer chapter coordinator with Herbalists Without Borders. She currently sees clients through her private practice, Morning Sun Herbals & Bodywork. Beth is also an organic gardener and in 2010 she is a co-founded the Medicine Wheel Living Park, a 65-acre park focusing on sustainability practices, community orchards and gardens in the Bear Soldier District on Standing Rock. Beth believes strongly in natural medicine, environmental protection, Indigenous rights, and cultural revitalization. Her son was a student in the first cohort of the Lakota Language Immersion Nest, and Beth attended Sitting Bull College in Fort Yates, ND, receiving a degree in Native American Studies in 2013.
